From India to the Bronx: Building a Movement for Youth, By Youth
This summer, we’re feeling the power of purpose—from the streets of India to the classrooms of the South Bronx.

Cambio Labs in India with Make A Difference Our founder Sebastián Martin recently returned from an inspiring visit with Make A Difference (MAD) in India, where he witnessed firsthand how young volunteers are transforming the lives of vulnerable children through mentorship, care, and radical love. We are thrilled that MAD is using the Journey platform to train their Community Organizers all over the country.
“In a country where millions of children are left without support, these young people step up—not just with resources, but with heart. They welcomed me as one of their own and showed what’s possible when youth lead with purpose.”

🚀 Instructor Bootcamp: Prepping for a Summer of Innovation
Back in NYC, we just wrapped our Summer Instructor Bootcamp—a 4-day intensive to prepare our dynamic team of educators for the 5-week Business & Coding Incubator at the Institute for Entrepreneurship. Now in our fifth year partnering with Prep for Prep, and supported by Google, we’re leveling up how we teach innovation, tech, and entrepreneurship—with justice-rooted design and inclusive practices at the core.
This year’s bootcamp was designed and led by our Director of Tech & Innovation, Richard “D-cal” Dacalos, and covered:
✅ Anti-ableist teaching frameworks
✅ Collaborative teaching demos
✅ Executive function tools
✅ Inclusive, student-centered learning strategies
Meet the Dream Team:
🔁 Returning teammates:
Loren Sklar, Coding Instructor
Cinthya Sanchez, Entrepreneurship Instructor Assistant & Accessibility Coordinator
🌟 New faces this summer:
Chukwudi Kanu, Entrepreneurship Instructor
Emil Palacios, Instructor Assistant & Platform Coordinator
Tesneem Essa & Roselio Ortega, AI Development & Data Science Interns
This is how we build the future: inclusive by design, powered by play, and rooted in the belief that young people from underestimated communities already have what it takes to lead.
✨ Huge thanks to the Oyate Group for hosting our bootcamp for another year!
